Tabankulu Secondary care facility is a charming double-storey thatch house with wooden floors and a warm, sunny ambience.  Tucked away on a large property in the Cape Fynbos, it has a sauna, swimming pool and is surrounded by a panoramic view of mountains and sea.  We accommodate 15 residents in comfortable semi-private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms

We offer a truly holistic programme to residents in a beautiful, safe and compassionate, mindful and healing environment.  Our integrated treatment approach recognises that humans exist as body, mind, emotions and spirit, functioning within a cultural and social context

Our treatment philosophy is based on the premise that only when the whole person is healed within his or her social and cultural context can lasting recovery begin.  Our integrated treatment, based on the Integrated Recovery Model, is a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to treatment and recovery.  The Integrated Recovery Model integrates 12-step abstinence-based methodologies, mindfulness-based interventions, positive psychology, Integral Theory and many other evidence-based therapeutic modalities.  The result is a comprehensive and balanced programme that initiates an awakening and healing in all dimensions of our clients' lives.

We are one of the few treatment centres in the world to offer this progressive level of treatment.

At Tabankulu Secondary clients are introduced to and educated in working an  Integrated Recovery Programme (IRP). An Integrated Recovery Programme is about mindfully practicing your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental dimensions as part of an Integrated Recovery Lifestyle that is geared towards continued personal growth in relation to self, others and the Trancendent. The aim of an IRP is for clients to achieve an optimal measure of health, meaning and joy in all the vital areas of their lives, thereby giving them the capcity to achieve their full potential as unique human beings.
