Angus Moray McGregor (AIISA)

Before coming to Tabankulu, Angus had a career spanning 30 yrs in the insurance industry, specializing in crop insurance, and was involved in a number of charities, serving as Chairman of the Service Dining Rooms, a soup kitchen providing meals to the homeless and indigent in the Cape Town City Bowl.

In 2005 he decided to make a change in career and began to study Addiction Counselling, obtaining the Addiction Counselling Learnership. This was followed by the S.A.C.A.P. Certificate in Counselling and Communication (Addiction). Angus will complete the requirements for the follow up Diploma in Counselling at the end of 2009.
He has attended a number of relevant seminars in the addiction field including:
Management of Psychiatric Conditions Co-morbid with Addiction (Dual Diagnosis) by Dr Greg McCarthy and Facing the Shadows seminar by Dr Patrick Carnes.

Prior to joining Tabankulu, Angus worked on a part time basis for a number of local Treatment Centres.  Angus has been the House Manager at Tabankulu Tertiiary since it’s opening in 2006.
