Guy Du Plessis
Clinical Head of Programme - B.A. (Psych), Dip. Counselling (Unisa)
Guy has worked in the field of addiction for over ten years and has experienced working in and setting up Tabankulu’s Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care centres. He has completed a BA counselling psychology with distinction and is currently doing postgraduate studies in psychology, furthermore he holds a counselling diploma from the University of South Africa. As the Clincal Head of Programme, Guy has developed and implemented the Integrated Recovery Model, which has yielded extraordinary results as a treatment modality. Guy is internationally recognised as one of the leading pioneers in the field of integrally informed addiction and recovery approaches, and is the first clinician to design and implement an integrally informed addiction treatment model in an in-patient addition treatment setting.
Frank de Gouveia
Senior Addictions Counsellor
In his role as Senior Addictions Counsellor, Frank brings practical experience, focus and passion to the management and care of the clients at Tabankulu Secondary. He has extensive experience of business administration and has studied at the UCT Graduate School of Business. He’s been a practicing counsellor in the addictions field for the last six years. Frank brings empathy, energy, understanding and clear commitment to all of our Tabankulu clients.
Rob Arnott
Addictions Counsellor / Psychologist
Rob began his work in the field of addiction at SHARP treatment centre in Johannesburg (2003-2005) as a full time addictions counsellor. He completed his Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, doing his placement at Leeukop maximum security prison and at HOPE, the AIDS care centre. In addition, Rob completed his internship at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital in Johannesburg in 2006,carrying out his community service year at Brits district hospital in 2007. Rob began working at Tabankulu in 2008.
